The tournament will be played from 23 to 26 June 2021 in The Hague, on the beach of Scheveningen. In addition, there will be played in the permanent The Hague Beach Stadium, which has an adapted capacity.
How does the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final work?
In contrast to ‘normal’ beach volleyball tournaments, the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final is played with national teams. Each participating country selects two teams per gender. The first-seeded team from country A will meet the second-seeded team from country B and vice versa. If after those two matches there is a tie on the board, a golden match will be played that will bring the decision. There is 1 ticket to the Olympic Games per gender for the winning country. The country itself decides which team they can send.
Which teams will participate in the event?
Sixteen countries per gender participate in the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final. The top 15 of the Olympic ranking is directly placed for the Olympic Games and is not allowed to participate in the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final. If a country has already qualified for the Games with two teams, they will be replaced by a team that finished in sixth place in the second round of the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final. The draw will take place on Wednesday 16 June and then the schedule will be announced.

Where can I find more information about the event?
You will find the latest information at https://beachroadtotokyo.cev.eu. Prior to the event, we inform all visitors by email with the latest information.
How do you organize the tournament in a safe way?
Last year, with organizing King of the Court in Utrecht, we showed how in a safe and responsible manner events with spectators are organized during the time of corona. We don't know what the world will be like at the end of June. By building a corona-proof stadium, we can comply with the guidelines of the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment down to the smallest detail and welcome visitors in a safe way.
All visitors take place in their own skybox so that they can visit the event in a safe way and experience it in a unique way. In this way, every visitor receives a true VIP treatment by enjoying the matches exclusively with their own household(s) in a skybox.
In addition to using the corona-proof stadium, we have a strict corona protocol, whereby everyone can keep a distance of 1.5 meters outside the sky boxes.
Is a corona protocol used?
For the corona protocol, we work closely with the European Volleyball Association, the National Olympic Committee and the Dutch government. The protocol will be shared with all visitors a few days before the event and will consist of matters such as a health check of all visitors, hygiene measures, mandatory masks, etc.
Do I need to be tested before attending the event?
We are very happy that we can organize this event at this time, but measures are needed to be able to do it properly and safely. For example, it is mandatory for visitors of the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Final to be tested beforehand.
